Design Nation 2021: Getting Real with Jacob Pace, CEO of Flighthouse, a Juggernaut GenZ Creative Studio for TikTok and Beyond
Jacob Pace, CEO of Flighthouse Media, started his career when he was 14 years old, after launching a YouTube channel to promote music that he was producing at the time. Shortly after, he started a record label and, in order to get PR for his artists, he began writing for a variety of music blogs. His work captured the attention of Alex Williams, co-founder of Create Music Group, one of the fastest growing independent music companies in the world. At the age of 16, he became VP of Business Development for Create. While working for Create, he came across Flighthouse when it was at 1M followers. He spoke to Alex’s partner, Jonathan Strauss, about investing in Flighthouse, where Create ended up acquiring the channel. Since then, Jacob and team have grown Flighthouse to more than 30M across platforms. Flighthouse is on track to do $5M in revenue this year and has been built in as the leading Gen Z brand and agency. It was named a 2020 Most Innovative Company by Fast Company.
Jacob and his team strive to be trailblazing and tasteful in everything they do, leveraging the power of social media to create positive and mindful content. They’ve created several successful short-form series on their channel, featuring the biggest influencers and internet stars in the world. With their agency, they’ve contributed to a number of successful hits such as Surfaces’ “Sunday Best,” Arizona Zervas’ “Roxanne,” and many others. As Flighthouse looks to expand, they have acquired the popular podcast, “Teenager Therapy,” the largest mental health podcast for teenagers. “Teenager Therapy” has been featured in NY Times, Good Morning America and more and recently interviewed The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (Harry and Meghan).
