Boost Journalism Fellowship

Boost is a program within Business Today that aims to elevate the voices of Black students in conversations of business and leadership through meaningful engagement with Black leaders, mentorship opportunities, and career planning.

Boost Summer Journalism Fellowship

Beginning in the summer of 2020, the Boost Summer Journalism Fellowship allows Black Princeton students to interview Black business leaders and executives through written articles and podcast episodes. This year, we accepted nine student writers with representation from each class year.

I'm a junior from Sharon, Massachusetts. At home, I do a lot of reading. I am into fantasy, realistic fiction, memoirs, and non-fiction –– really anything! I'm also working on a book myself right now. Lately I've been taking up watercolor painting, oil pastels, the guitar, and I just bought a keyboard to make music.

I am really interested in non-profit, community-oriented work, social justice and equity, and also how a lot processes are becoming automated/put online (like seeing the doctor or attending a yoga class!). I would love to research and talk about these topics more.

At Princeton, I am apart of SPEAR, Woke Wednesdays, Matriculate, and I am a Sophomore Officer at the Charter Club. All in all, I would say that I'm a very creative person who also likes to help others and be in the midst of things!

I am a sophomore from New Jersey. At Princeton, I serve as the Communications Director for Black Pre-med Society and volunteer with a crisis hotline. In my free time, I enjoy writing poetry, dancing with my church's dance team, and creating content for my Youtube channel.

+ Mike Watson

Hey guys! I am a senior from Queens, New York. Outside of school, I'm interested in the intersection between social entrepreneurship and wellness practices (regular exercise, healthy diet, etc.). In my free time, I enjoy cooking and playing the saxophone.

Hey, y’all, I am a freshman from Arlington, Texas near the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I am the daughter of a Nigerian immigrant and multi-generational Black American. In my spare time, I enjoy baking, reading, sewing, photography, organizing, exercising, and hanging out with my beloved family members. In high school, I was heavily involved in community engagement, environmental justice research, mentorship programs, and initiatives that intended to empower historically underresourced peoples. I plan on participating in similar activities and becoming a ping pong master during these next four years.

I am a sophomore from the great city of New York and living in close proximity to JFK airport has turned me into somewhat of an aviation fanatic. I enjoy plane spotting, and always look forward to seeing a double-decker aircraft in the sky. Surely, I hope to pursue a career in the aviation industry. Additionally, on-campus I serve as the Director of Marketing for Princeton's BSU and as the co-Events Chair for Princeton's African Students Association.

Hello, I am a freshman from Kansas City, Missouri! I do a lot of photography and love to take pictures of all the different people in KC. I'm also very politically active and enjoy being involved in local campaigns and organizing. Being an incoming freshman, I am not involved in any extracurriculars on campus yet, but I hope to be active in the BSU, Business Today, and hopefully Woke Wednesdays. Outside of my more academic interests, I spend a lot of my time (pre-coronavirus of course) exploring the local food scene, visiting art galleries, and going on runs.

+ Andy Iyabor

I'm a sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia. I enjoy watching The Office, playing the drums, meditating, and reading. At Princeton, I'm involved in the community through the Black Student Union and I even occasionally babysit for professors.

+ Lindsey Moore

I am a sophomore from Charlotte, NC. I am a Computer Science student at Princeton University with interests in education, literature, and fashion. I serve as the Pre-Collegiates Initiatives Chair for my school's chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers to help K-12 students in the greater Princeton area gain more exposure to STEAM topics. In my free time, I love reading, writing, and spending time with my family!

I am a British-Nigerian member of 2023, who lives in London. I am passionate about bringing to light underrepresented Black business leaders and promoting small, particularly Black, business. On campus, I work in different areas of service, as well as in Whig-Clio and the Princeton Debate Panel.
